Vampire Academy fans rejoice! Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series is getting a second chance at the screen, thanks to Julie Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre.

Their successes with shows like The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies give fans true hope for a better on-screen outcome than we got with the Vampire Academy movie that was released in 2014.

While the initial big-screen film wasn’t terrible as its own entity, many fans (including some staff members here at Vespertilio Books) felt that the 2014 film was too light and comedic, failing to capture the book series’ dark academia atmosphere.

We can’t wait to see how the new series on Peacock goes. Are you excited?
